ISRAEL 70 YEARS. AGRITECH 20 EVENTS – GRAND OPENING OF THE EVENT !
Kenes Exhibitions is proud to announce the grand opening of the 20th Agriculture Technology Conference and Exhibition in Tel Aviv, AGRITECH ISRAEL.

Uri Ariel, Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development mentioned that the Agritech aim is to set a goal for promoting agriculture and food security worldwide. To do so they will promote agricultural experience, knowledge and technology developed here in this small desert country and have successfully overcome difficulties and challenges and now prides itself in advanced and effective agriculture. Israeli Minister for Agriculture highlighted the Government goal of elevating the awareness of agriculture to its rightful place as a major driver of Israeli and world economies.

Gov. Eric Holocomb has highlighted that the State Dept of Agriculture works with 1600 life science companies and over 6000 farmers, large and small corporations, working hand in glove, day in after day out.

On Israel’s 70th year, we were joined by Israeli Agriculture Ministry, local officials, other community and business leaders to celebrate the grand opening of this 20th Agritech event. The grand opening celebration includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony, special session of MASHAV about food policies and family farming, and an award for the Agritech Israel founder, Mr. Rafi Famon and former Agritech Manager, Mr. Dani Meiri. The event combines a Conference dedicated to the innovations in agriculture with worldwide speakers and leading Israeli companies’ presentations, 12 thousand sq.m exhibition space, 120 exhibitors as well as an Innovation (Start-up) pavilion, satellite events by the invited 600 business foreign delegations and 50 ministers worldwide, and 7  professional tours in agriculture and water fields. Global agricultural leaders will gather in Tel Aviv this week for the International Week of Agriculture. Israel is hosting this three-day event, from 8 to 10 May, in partnership with the Israel Export Institute, Kibbutz Industries Association, Israel Innovation Authority and the Ministries of Agriculture, Economy and Foreign Affairs.  The intensive days of meetings will see international and regional participants explore innovations, discuss challenges and look for ways to protect and expand agriculture in the region and abroad. With support from the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development, over 50 delegations from Uganda, Angola, Ethiopia, Ghana, South Sudan, Ivory Coast, Zambia, Togo, Mozambique, Nigeria, Seychelles, Swaziland, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Rwanda, Argentina, Brazil, Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Bhutan, India, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Mongolia, Nepal, China, South Korea, Sri Lanka, The Philippines, Cambodia, Solomon Islands, Fiji Islands, Papua New Guinea, Ukraine, Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Macedonia, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Hungary, Greece, Czech Republic, Cyprus, United States (Governor of Indiana) countries are expected to take part in the event.

Activities will include a few major regional agricultural forums in two parallel sessions each day – Family & Smallholders Farming, Protected Cultivation and Plant Protection, Global Projects and Africa on 8 May, and the Start-up presentations by the Israel Innovation Authority with meetings on themes like Water and Irrigation, Agriculture Regional Projects and Financing, Water, Soil, Combating Desertification and Crops on 9 May. At top-level meetings, ministers are expected to endorse the new five-year plan for its member countries and territories.

Agritech Israel is a meeting place for many agreements to be signed. Israel and Nigeria have agreed to widen an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on their cooperation in agriculture technology and research. The new terms were finalized this week between Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Guy Feldman, and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh. The agreement includes a plan to apply for aid from development partners, strengthen research institutes on agriculture in the country, and train youth. Feldman presented the Nigerian minister with a signed invitation to the annual Agritech conference in Israel focused on agricultural technologies and innovations, taking place in May.
